Real Madrid's injury woes continue to surge as another key member of the squad is sidelined. Lucas Vasquez, the Spanish midfielder and captain of the Galacticos, will unfortunately miss the crucial first leg of the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City at the Etihad.
Vasquez sustained this injury during the recent Madrid derby on Saturday. In that match, he was notably engaged in a verbal confrontation with the referee regarding a penalty awarded to Atletico Madrid. The setback comes at a time when the team is on the verge of making an early exit from the Champions League after they failed to finish in the top 8 rankings of the revamped Champions League format.

It informed that following tests conducted by Real Madrid Medical Services, it has been confirmed that he has sustained a muscle injury in the hamstring of his left leg. As a result, he will not be part of the squad for the upcoming clash against Manchester City and further assessments will determine his recovery progress.
"Following tests carried out today on our player Lucas Vázquez by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the hamstring of his left leg. He will not be included in the squad for the match in Manchester. Pending progress." The tweet read.
Lucas Vasquez joined the Galacticos in the year 2015. Since then, he has made 264 appearances across different competitions. He has scored 28 goals playing as a full-back and midfielder. He has won 16 trophies with the Galacticos, including five UEFA Champions League titles and four Laliga titles. He is one of the most experienced players in the current generation of Real Madrid players and a captain figure in the team.
