The family of Kylian Mbappé is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Stade Malherbe Caen, a Ligue 2 team, according to Ouest-France and RMC Sport. Currently, American asset management company Oaktree Capital Management, which additionally owns Serie A champions Inter, is the owner of the Normandy team. However, Oaktree recently notified Pierre-Antoine Capton, a minority shareholder in Caen, that they would be exiting the club's ownership, forcing Capton to look for new investors.

The development that Kylian Mbappé's family is interested in purchasing the Ligue 2 team in order to expand their operations was first revealed by RMC Sport expert Daniel Riolo. Apart from overseeing Kylian and Ethan Mbappé's careers, the family of the France captain also owns a players' agency and the charitable foundation IBKM.
