Real Madrid share heartwarming post after Rafael Nadal’s retirement

Rafael Nadal announced that he would be retiring from tennis after the Davis Cup 2024 finals in November and Real Madrid wished him all the best for the future.

Rafael Nadal, the renowned tennis player, confirmed his decision to retire earlier today. Nadal declared that 2024 was going to be his final year competing professionally. The 22-time Grand Slam winner will end the illustrious career in November following the Davis Cup Finals.

In a statement posted across all their social media channels, Real Madrid said that, “Real Madrid C. F., its President, and its Board of Directors are extending their respect and feelings of affection for a single among the greatest legends of Spanish and global sport of all time, Rafa Nadal, following his announcement that he will be retiring from professional tennis following the Davis Cup, which he is scheduled to compete with Spain in November 2024.”

The statement from the La Liga powerhouses added, “Rafa Nadal is a great and special member of Real Madrid, therefore it is and always will be a source of pride for us and all Madridistas. Rafael Nadal has triumphed five times in the Davis Cup while competing for Spain. He has also won gold medals in the Olympics in Beijing (2008) and Rio de Janeiro (2016).”

Florentino Perez said in a statement that, “Rafa Nadal is also a source of pride for our country and is an example of the core values of sport, with which he has forged his entire extraordinary career.”

With 22 Grand Slams notably 14 Roland Garros, which makes him the professional tennis player with the most victories in this competition.
