Sergio Ramos return denied

Considering Eder Militao's recent injury, it is improbable that Real Madrid will bring Sergio Ramos back to the Santiago Bernabeu. Following his ACL rupture during Real Madrid's 4-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, Militao will be sidelined the remainder of the 2024–25 season. After being carried off on a stretcher, it was announced that the Brazilian center-back would be out for a period of nine months.

Former Los Blancos superstar Guti had supported Sergio Ramos making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu as a possible free agent after the defender was sidelined for the season, but AS claims the team is not thinking about bringing the renowned Spaniard back.

The story goes on to say that because the 38-year-old hasn't played professionally since departing Sevilla towards the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, club management has severe concerns about his present level of fitness. Because of this, the Spanish champions consider this transfer to be "impossible" and will wait until January to recruit a new player rather than signing a free agent now.

According to AS, Real Madrid is instead considering a move for Laporte, a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr, whom they had contemplated signing throughout the summer. The former Manchester City player is currently the team's top target for the January transfer window.

Real Madrid not interested in signing Sergio Ramos

According to Diario AS, the board and president decided on Sunday afternoon that he is not up to par and that his tenure at the club is still suspended. They would also need to mend fences after Ramos departed under a cloud after protracted and contentious contract negotiations in 2021. Nearly all of the club's members agreed on the choice.

It appears that Raul Asencio, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jesus Vallejo, and Antonio Rudiger will be needed to maintain down the fort until January. Asencio replaced Militao on Saturday and made his debut alongside a clean sheet as well as an assist.
