Madrid will be paying a fee of £5 million for their former winger Eden Hazard to Chelsea, as part of the contract clasues. Hazard retired in October 2023.

Real Madrid have already become the champions of Spain after they won their 36th La Liga title. The Los Blancos have been increadible in the season, having won the domestic league they are in the final of the UEFA Champions League against the odds and are the favourites to win the tournament as well. Carlo Ancelotti's side despite having several injuries did not struggle to compete with the best team around the world and beat them as well. The Los Blancos will be up against Borussia Dortmund in the final of the UCL and will look to add on the tally to 15.   

However ahead of the final, Madrid will be paying a fee of £5 million for their former winger Eden Hazard to Chelsea FC, as part of the contract clasues. Hazard retired in October 2023, but there is a condition in his 2019 transfer clause to Real Madrid that helps the Blues to gain the money. The former Chelsea winger signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid for an initial payment of £88 million, which was supposed to expire in this summer. 

However the 33-year-old footballer decided to hang up his boots before that due to struggling with injuries and several other problems in Spain. The package along with the lucrative offers costed up to £150 million, of which £130 million had already been earned by the English club. The bonuses still remains activated irrespective of the contract termination. 

Eden Hazard went from hero to zero at Madrid

The former Belgian footballer played in 76 games across all competitions in four seasons, however, he only scored seven goals and provided twelve assists. With a dipping form and injuries he was forced to announce his retirement. The former Chelsea star was a mere shadow of his in the Spanish league. 

He was brilliant footballer at Stamford Bridge winning the Premier League and other trophies as well he scored 110 goals in 352 appearances for the club and has been regarded as the legend of the club for his immense footballing contributions for the club over the span of seven years.
