It was an easy win for Real Madrid as goals from the penalty spot by Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe did the track. The win over Real Sociedad meant that the Los Blancos are now 2nd in the table with 11 points from 5 matches. Real Sociedad on the other hand are 16th in the table with 4 matches from five games.

At the end of the game, Carlo Ancelotti slammed his team and said “It was a tough game, probably we didn't deserve to win because Real Sociedad played very well... but we bore it out, we suffered, we were committed in the tough moments of the game and I value that a lot”

The first half of the game was evenly contested as both sides went into the break 0-0. In the 2nd half, Real Madrid started to apply more pressure on the home team. The tactics worked off well as Sociedad defenders made mistakes to give away two penalties.

In the 58th minute of the game, Real Madrid was given a penalty thanks to a handball from Sergio Gomez. Vinicius Junior stepped up to the plate and gave the visitors the lead. More defensive mistakes meant that yet another penalty was given which Mbappe duly converted in the 76th minute.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said at the end of the game “They are linking well, creating a lot of danger. In open play, they're lacking goals a bit, but with them, we have a lot of danger up front and we will score a lot of goals. Today it was from the penalty spot, but they count too."

Real Sociedad star Igor Zubeldia said “We had a great first half, we had a lot of chances, the game was alive. In the second half, we started well but the penalty was a tough blow... we were comfortable, it changed the whole game for us."

The final word though was with the Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti who said “This sacrifice and commitment from a team with such quality, you cannot always find -- and today we found it."
