In the French Super Trophy match played in Doha on Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Monaco 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembele in stoppage time. Poor finishing and some excellent stops by Monaco goalkeeper Philipp Koehn kept PSG from scoring during this match. PSG's offensive issues this season have frequently cost them in the Champions League.
Philipp Kohn, the goalkeeper for Monaco, made multiple saves after Desire Doue of PSG struck the crossbar early on. After halftime, Monaco got better and hit the post thanks to Brazilian defender Vanderson and Eliesse Ben Seghir. Kohn denied Achraf Hakimi in the 74th minute with a brilliant stop, but he misread Ruiz's cross, and Monaco lost out on capturing the trophy for the first time since 2000.
Fabian Ruiz provided a clean pass across the face of goal, but Dembele's late intervention prevented the game from going to penalties. He finished inside the far post to clinch the victory. Shortly after this, the Lens player David Pereira da Costa was sent off after receiving a second yellow card after a video review, the goal was scored.

PSG wins the trophy for 13th time
Although the match was competitive, Luis Enrique's team in Qatar ultimately deserved the win, as PSG won the trophy, for the 13th time. The game took place at Doha's Stadium 974, which was not full for the 2022 World Cup matches, but the eventual winners had the better of the match, with 27 shots and nine on goal.
For PSG, it is the ideal beginning to an incredible month that will culminate in a crucial Champions League matchup against Manchester City on January 22. Monaco will also play Aston Villa and Inter Milan in their crucial upcoming weeks as they aim to advance to the Champions League knockout stage.
