The 2018 World Cup winner has been linked with a move to Spain and join Real Madrid for the upcoming season. As per reports, the 25-year-old winger has already signed the contract with the club, but the official announcement is yet to be made. He will join the Spanish side as a free agent in the upcoming window.

After joining PSG from AS Monaco in 2017, Mbappe will leave as the club's all-time greatest scorer, with 255 goals in 305 matches. He won twelve major trophies with the defending champions, including six Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, three French Super Cups, and two French League Cups. But one trophy that was missing from the cabinet was the UEFA Champions League and he could not achieve with the club.

However, the club he is reported to join in the summer window has won 14 UCL trophies and are on the verge of winning their 15 as well as they are in the final of the tournament once again. Before the signing was made official there was some confusion according to L'Equipe, potential chaos has surfaced in the current discussions between PSG and Mbappé. As things stand PSG will not receive the €80 million loyalty bonus that Mbappe allegedly renounced last summer in order to secure his status with the team.

Chaos arises as PSG refuses to pay Mbappe's bonus

Initially, the loyalty incentive was not paid to Mbappé in October as planned. However, PSG altered its course in February and paid the amount. According to sources close to PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Real Madrid planned to reimburse the expenditure due to Mbappe's upcoming contract expiration. However, discussions were stopped after Florentino Pérez, refused to accept responsibility for the payment.

Amidst all the turmoil, another piece of news comes up that the capital club withheld Mbappé’s April salary and an outstanding bonus, resulting in a saving of €80 million for the club. Lawyers have been involved in resolving the issue from both parties are engaged in discussions, although progress for the same has been slow.
