Premier League 2023-24: Tottenham Hotspurs (TOT) vs Manchester City (MCI) Match Preview, Match 37

Tottenham Hotspurs' form in the ongoing season has gone down after they started well in the season. The North London side are currently placed fifth in the league table as their UEFA Champions League qualification is on strings after their losses against Arsenal and Liverpool. However, they won against Burnely in the last game and are currently four points behind Aston Villa who needs three points from the last two games to qualify for UCL. 

Spurs will be hosting Manchester City on Wednesday at the White Hart Lane in the English Premier League. The Sky Blues are the favourites of winning the league once again and are a point behind the Gunners with one game in hand. Pep Guardiola's side would like to win the game as they do not want to drop points in the important clash. On the other hand, it is a must-win game for Ange Postecoglou's side to keep their hopes alive for UCL. 

In the reverse fixture back in December, Spurs earned a draw in a six-goal thriller at the Etihad stadium after the game ended 3-3. Guardiola's side if they win the league this will their fourth consecutive title and they are also in the final of the FA Cup and set to face arch rivals Manchester United.

Spurs, who edged out against relegated Burnely, will be helpful for the side. However, the concern is the fourth spot of UCL as they will officially be out of the competition if Villa wins the game against Liverpool. Postecoglou in his debut campaign, Spurs have set a new club record in the Premier League era. Their star striker Heung-min Son will be a player that the visitors will look at. 

City on the other hand has been in amazing form since the start of the 2024 year and has not lost a single game so far. With Erling Haaland coming back in the goals the side will look to win the game and the side has found a new star Josko Gvardiol who has been amazing and scoring goals for the side as well.
