Arsenal had their eyes set on this game hoping that Fulham can string their magic and can get the win over Manchester City today. At the Craven Cottage, the hosts began brightly hoping to get the early goal which would lift the side with confidence. However, Manchester City grabbed the first chance that they got as Josko Gvardiol finished off a brilliant move to give his side the lead.

The visitors came out with more confidence in the second half as they were able to increase the lead. This 4-0 win over Fulham has surely boosted the confidence of the side and has helped out their goal difference as well. They now currently lead the English Premier League having played the same number of games as contenders Arsenal. Let’s take a look at the player ratings for the game between Fulham and Manchester City.

Ratings for the game:

Fulham:

Bernd Leno - 4.5

The goalkeeper may have been at fault for both the goals from Gvardiol as he could have saved the shot from Gvardiol. Otherwise, it was a decent game for the keeper as he made some important saves.

Timothy Castagne - 6.5

The Belgium defender had to do major defensive work today and may have been at fault for the goal. He was also trying to contribute in the attack for the team when they had the ball.

Issa Diop - 3

He was composed at the back and was at his best as he won the duels against Erling Haaland. The centre-back recieved a late red card which gave away a penalty for his side.

Calvin Bassey - 4

The centre-back looked shaky against the City attackers and was one of the weak links for the hosts at the back today.

Antonee Robinson - 7.5

Undoubtedly one of the best players for Fulham as he was able to keep the right wing for City quiet and was looking to attack whenever his side had the possession.

Alex Iwobi - 5

The attacker could not show his creativity and lost possession of the ball more often than not today.

Joao Palhinha - 5.5

The Portuguese international always seems to help out the attack but in this game he could not get the chances to go out and help the forwards. Defensively, he was solid and was looking to shut down the opposition attackers.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid - 6.5

The skipper was making great runs across the right flank and trying his best to get in the crosses towards the striker. He was substituted before the start of the second half as a tactical change.

Andreas Pereira - 5

The attacking midfielder was invisible throughout the game as he was not able to muster any chances for the side. He was later removed in the second half.

Willian - 6

The attacker was helping out the defence more often than not and his balls from midfield surely created some rare chances for the hosts today. He was replaced at the beginning of the second half due to a tactical change.

Rodrigo Muniz - 5.5

The in-form striker got some chances but was unable to get a goal back for his side today but was still proving to be a trouble for the City backline. He was removed in the second half to bring on some fresh legs for the team.

Substitutions:

Adama Traore - 6.5

The Spaniard came out at half-time and caused some trouble to the City defenders with his sheer pace.

Tom Cairney - 3.5

He also came on for the second half but lost possession on a number of occasions.

Armando Broja - 5

The striker played for approximately 25-30 minutes but was unable to do much in his brief stint at the pitch today

Manchester City:

Ederson - 7

The Brazilian did not have much to do throughout the game but whenever called upon he was there to help out the team.

Manuel Akanji - 7.5

The defender started at right-back but when Walker was introduced he got back into his preferred centre-back role and had a great day

Ruben Dias - 8

The centre-back was solid at the back and was not letting Muniz get a chance at goal. His possession with the ball was key as he played out from the back.

Nathan Ake - 3.5

The left-back suffered a niggle and had to be substituted inside 20 minutes which was very unfortunate for him.

Josko Gvardiol - 9.5

The left-back became the unlikeliest of goal scorers as he netted the opener in this game and was helping out the attack more often than not. He got his first ever brace of his football career and it turned out to be a great day out for the Croatian.

Rodri -7.5

Another splendid game from the Spaniard as it was yet another error-less game from him as he helped out both the defence and the attack throughout the game.

Mateo Kovacic - 6.5

Had a decent outing today at Craven Cottage and was helping out the defence and the attack whenever required.

Bernardo Silva - 7

The creative midfielder became invisible at times but when he got a few chances, the Portuguese tried to increase the lead for the side and got the assist for the third goal

Kevin De Bruyne - 9

The attacking midfielder was once again class on the field today and he got a great assist to his name for the first goal.

Phil Foden - 7

The English playmaker was trying to create chances for his side and increased the lead for his side in the second half.

Erling Haaland - 5

It was a rather tame game from the Norwegian striker as he was getting beaten in the duels throughout the match. He was then removed after the game was done and dusted.

Substitutions:

Kyle Walker - 7.5

It was a surprise that the defender did not start the game but was forced to come on early due to an injury to Ake. He kept the left flank of Fulham quiet ever since he was introduced.

Jeremy Doku - 5

The winger replaced Kevin de Bruyne for the final 15 minutes of the game

Oscar Bobb - N/A

Rico Lewis - N/A

Julian Alvarez - 7

The substitute was able to grab the penalty late on in stoppage time and scored the fourth and final goal of the day.
