Ronaldo: A Father Figure in the Team

The Guinea-Bissau-born teenager is still adjusting to his rapid rise to fame. When asked if he has to take on a fatherly role with his younger teammates, Ronaldo shared that many of them feel uncomfortable talking to him. He recounted an incident where he approached a 17-year-old teammate named Quenda and asked how he was feeling after the game, noticing the embarrassment in the young player. Ronaldo prefers to see himself as an older brother rather than a father figure to his teammates. He emphasizes that the national team is like a family, and they are currently focused on the Nations League, a competition that Portugal is determined to win.

In the Interview, Ronaldo revealed:- "Many of them are embarrassed to talk to me! A little while ago I was going up to my room and I saw a new boy, 17 years old, Quenda. I went to him and said: 'So, have you recovered from the game?'. I saw that he was embarrassed. I don't say I'm a father, but an older brother. It could be a father to some and, as I said before, I've been through the same thing as them and the national team is a family. We're focusing on the Nations League, which is a fun competition and one that Portugal wants to win.”

Ronaldo is capped at 212 matches for Portugal. The Striker has scored a record 130 goals and is hinting at prolonging his stay till the World Cup 2026. He is in no mood to retire anytime soon. One of the modern-day greats has his sights set on World Cup 2026 before calling it a day.
