A noted British TV personality has come out and urged Arsenal FC boss Mikel Arteta to sign Nico Williams in the coming transfer window. The 21-year-old was in top form for Spain during their 4-1 win over Georgia where he also scored the third goal of the night. It was a clinical performance from the Spanish side they confirmed their place in the final 8. 

Taking to his X account, Piers Morgan posted a picture of Nico Williams just captioned it by writing “Sign him @m8arteta”. Lots of fans were taken in by the performance from the youngster who has put in dazzling performances so far this campaign. 

Arsenal came close to winning the English Premier League title last year before they were pipped to the post. It is expected that the Gunners will be active in the summer transfer window and make a few new signings. 

Is FC Barcelona set to sign Nico Williams?

After his blistering performances for Spain, there is massive speculation about the future of Nico Williams. The youngster has been linked with big-money moves to various clubs across Europe. 

FC Barcelona are one of the potential clubs that the youngster could sign for. According to the local media, the Catalonia side is viewing Nico Williams as a priority signing for the coming season. 

According to Achraf Ben Ayad who wrote on X, “In Barcelona, they realize that the Nico deal cannot be wasted. The Athletic Bilbao player is a major target for the Catalan club in the transfer market. Laporta’s management will make every effort this summer to obtain him”  

21-year-old Nico Williams is a quick-footed winger who can play on each wing. The youngster is currently with the Athletic Bilbao Club where he has played 103 matches and scored 11 goals. 

Last season Nico Williams played 43 games across all competitions and scored 9 goals. The best stat though is the 18 assists he provided to his teammates to score goals. With an eye for a good cross and a sturdy presence in the field, Nico Willims will surely be a huge target for all the big clubs.
