The last goal scorer for Argentina during their 3-0 victory over Chile Friday night was Paulo Dybala, an attacker for Roma. Dybala scored in the last few minutes of play after entering the game late during the second half. The Roma player opened up about his emotions in his post-match chat with TyC Sports after finding himself back on Argentina's tally sheet.

He said, “One of the reasons why I rejected Saudi Arabia was certainly that of wanting to return to the national team. I feel good and I want to continue to fight and win with Argentina and with Roma. I know that there is a lot of competition here and not it’s easy, when I play I give 100%.”

The former Juventus forward said, “The fans are incredible, this group gives a lot of happiness to people and they recognize it. This victory is for everyone. The people have welcomed me in this way after a long time away from the Seleccion and I got goosebumps. The decision for me to wear the 10 was made from above, it wasn’t mine or my teammates’. The 10 is solely and exclusively Leo’s and now that I have to wear it I have to give it my all.”

Lionel Messi's ankle injury sustained during the 2024 Copa America final continues to be bothering him. His illness has prevented him from playing for Inter Miami and has also prevented him from returning for Argentina. Dybala spoke about wearing the number 10 jersey for Argentina

Paulo Dybala said, “Being able to come back, being here with my team-mates, with our spectacular people who support me a lot and the truth is that well, it's special. I know it's not my shirt, we all know it's Leo's shirt but well, I tried to represent it in the best way, to give my best and I think I was able to do it.”

The AS Roma attacker added, “It was a decision made by the coaching staff, some of the boys said that it had to be me… I didn’t know whether to accept it or not because, well, it is a responsibility."
