The Brazilian national team is gearing up for crucial matches against Colombia and Argentina, driven by high expectations for their top players.
On Friday, February 28, 2025, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) made a statement by unveiling the preliminary squad for the national team. This announcement is highlighted by the highly anticipated return of superstar Neymar Jr. and another standout, Oscar.
Coach Dorival Júnior has pre-selected a formidable roster of 52 players as Brazil prepares to make a strong impact in these pivotal encounters during the upcoming FIFA date.
Neymar and Oscar caught the attention of fans
Neymar's anticipated return to the national team is an encouraging development, especially since he has been sidelined since his serious knee injury in the month of October 2023 during Brazil's qualification match against Uruguay.
Additionally, Oscar's inclusion in the national squad after a long eight-and-a-half-year absence has generated buzz among Brazil fans worldwide.
Oscar has so far made 48 appearances for Brazil, in which he has netted 12 goals for his national side. The talisman is playing for his Brazilian club, Sau Paulo, switching from the Chinese league team Shanghai Port last year.
"The CBF disclosed on Friday, February 28, 2025, the list of 52 players pre-called by Dorival Júnior to defend the Brazilian team during the FIFA date of March," stated the CBF
The Brazilian national team is set to play against Colombia on March 20 at the Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brazil, followed by a highly anticipated match against their rival, Argentina, on March 25 at the Estadio Monumental de Núñez in Buenos Aires. Currently, Brazil is facing challenges in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, sitting in fifth place with a total of 18 points.
