Oscar leaves Shanghai Port returns to Sao Paulo

Oscar, the former Chelsea midfielder, is making his 14-year comeback to his Brazilian boyhood team, Sao Paulo, after playing for a considerable amount of time in China.

Oscar, the former Chelsea midfielder, is making his 14-year comeback to his Brazilian boyhood team, Sao Paulo, after playing for a considerable amount of time in China. On social media on Tuesday, Julio Casares, the president of Sao Paulo, shared pictures of himself with the 33-year-old former Brazil international. "A super transfer," Casares said of the move.

Oscar expressed gratitude to Shanghai Port, China, where he played for eight seasons, for his time with the Chinese Super League team a few minutes later. "Today, I finish a cycle that marked my life forever," he said. "I leave with my heart full of gratitude and pride for everything we achieved together.

Oscar transferred for free to Sao Paulo. According to local media sources, the footballer signed a three-year contract, but neither the Brazilian team nor he revealed the length of the agreement. Oscar is making a comeback to the squad he sued to leave in 2010 to join Internacional, another Brazilian team.

Oscar will now go back to his roots. Sao Paulo, the team where the Brazilian midfielder started his professional career, is said to have offered him a three-year contract. His career has come full circle with his return to Brazil, which may present the seasoned playmaker with a new challenge back home.

Oscar played significant part in the FIFA 2014 World Cup 

Oscar joined Chelsea in 2012 and helped the English team win two Premier League trophies and one Europa League trophy. Oscar reportedly paid $73 million to join Shanghai during Chelsea's 2016–17 campaign. He became a favourite among Asian fans after winning three Super League titles in China.

Oscar started with Sao Paulo before relocating to Internacional, where European scouts took notice. He joined Chelsea in 2012, where he won the Premier League and the Europa League during his five seasons there. Oscar scored 12 goals and played a significant part in the 2014 World Cup while earning 48 caps for the Brazilian national team. At the 2014 World Cup, Oscar scored the lone goal for Brazil in their 7-1 semifinal loss to Germany, the eventual tournament winner.

Chelsea
