Neymar's father has hinted that the player may become a free agent after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup takes place next summer. Neymar's stint in Saudi Arabia has been miserable because he has missed most of his tenure at Al-Hilal due to many ailments. The Brazilian only appeared in five games throughout his debut season of playing in the Saudi Pro League before tearing his ACL while representing his nation in October 2023. He returned after a year, but was sidelined by yet another injury setback.
Despite speculation about Neymar's chances in Saudi Arabia and the possibility that Al-Hilal may terminate the superstar's contract early, the 32-year-old's father recently revealed why the soccer star continues to be included on the team's books despite his physical problems. Additionally, after the end of the 2024–25 season, Neymar Sr. made a clue about his son's future.
The father of the former Paris Saint-Germain winger said (while speaking to AS), “Let’s wait and see what will happen and how Neymar will really feel. He will be free to decide. We have never been so free to decide where we are going and having a 32-year-old free on hand is a gift for any businessman.”
“They already have one of the biggest stars” : Neymar Jr.’s father
He added, “All the clubs will be there and Al Hilal will be in this championship, they won this place. They already have one of the biggest stars they could have to compete in this and a boy with experience in this type of competition. That is why they did not give up on the second year of Neymar’s contract.”
Santos, the Brazilian international's boyhood club, is reportedly preparing a substantial offer to lure the legendary striker back home. By the conclusion of the season, a lot of things might be revealed, including the Brazilian star's rumored transfer to Lionel Messi's Inter Miami. It remains to be seen where Neymar will end up come summer 2025.
