French striker Neal Maupay kicked a storm when he posted a tweet with a video of a scene from Shawshank Redemption. That tweet caused quiet a stir with the Everton fans not taking lightly to the antics by the French star.

Neal Maupay moved to Marseille on a season long loan from Everton. The striker had spent the last season at Brentford where he played 29 matches and scored 6 goials. So far, Maupay has played 20 times for Everton and scored a single goal since his from move from Brighton where he scored 26 goals from 102 games.

Everton are currently at the bottom of the table having lost all their three games so far. The bad start to the season has seen manager Sean Dyche on the verge of a sack from the club. Former Manager David Moyes has been one of the most favored names to make a stunning return to the club.

Neal Maupay delighted to move from Everton

Speaking at his first ever press conference at Marseille, French striker Neal Maupay said, “supporters like to discuss, criticise, and celebrate and it doesn't bother me because I consider myself a normal person and if everyone can tweet I can do it too.”

The French star also said, “I published a funny little video because my situation at Everton was known, I wanted to leave and the club didn't want to keep me. So this little video was to say that I was relieved to leave the club.”

James Maddison is currently with Tottenham had his own run with Maupay. Moments after scoring Maupay did a Darts throw celebration which was done by Maddison. The English star though had the last laugh as he scored against Maupay’s team and did the celebration.

When asked about the incident, Maddison said, “I have no feeling towards that to be honest. I was more annoyed about the fact we conceded on the night. If he’s trying to milk it a bit more now that’s up to him. It’s a distant memory in my mind, I’ll be honest with you.”

Neal Maupay is in Marseille on a season long loan from Everton. If the French star manages to have a good season, his current club will have to pay the English side 6 million Euros to make the deal permanent.
