Mohun Bagan Super Giants is the most prolific football club in the Indian ecosystem. Having secured an ACL2 spot after retaining their Indian Super League title this month, the club is actively seeking quality foreign stars who can be a great asset in Asia's Europa League. According to the latest reports, Mohun Bagan Supergiants may make two blockbuster signings this season.

As per the reports, Mohun Bagan is closely linked with former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez and current Bundesliga star Jackson Irvine. The club aims to onboard these two footballers with their sights on ACL2.

Valued at 20 crore INR Colombian star James Rodriguez currently plays for Mexican club Club León. He signed a short one-year contract with this Mexican outfit that also features former ISL star Steven Mendoza. The two-time UEFA Champions League winner is a midfield maestro who has incredible playmaking and passing abilities.

Mohun Bagan is also linked to Bundesliga star Jackson Irvine, who is valued at 16 crore INR. The Australian star currently leads Bundesliga club FC St Pauli. The 32-year-old operates as a midfielder for both his club and country. He joined the club in 2021 and is set to become a free agent in June.

Should Mohun Bagan be able to pull off these two transfers, it would be a huge boost to their continental ambitions. Previously, club owner Sanjeev Goenka articulated the team’s aspirations to make an impact in continental tournaments following their retention of the shield in March.
