The Egyptian superstar has alleviated concerns about a potential free transfer from the Reds this summer by officially signing a new contract, which was announced on Friday.
As the Premier League's top scorer, he has agreed to a substantial increase in his weekly salary, raising it from £350,000 to £400,000, according to The Sun. This brings his earnings in line with Manchester City’s star Kevin De Bruyne, although both remain behind the league's highest earner, Erling Haaland, who is set to make £500,000 per week.
Mohamed Salah looks set to secure the Golden Boot once more this season. He is currently leading the Premier League goal chart with 27 goals, six ahead of his closest competitor, Erling Haaland who is set to miss the rest of the season with an injury. Furthermore, he is also the top assister in the Premier League with 17 assists ahead of the likes of Bukayo Saka and Antonee Robinson.
“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,” Salah said. Mohammad Salah will be in action for the Reds against West Ham United on April 13th.
