Many English football fans often call the Bundesliga as ‘framers league’ as they think that the overall quality of the league is very low if it is compared to the Premier League. However, four of English clubs have been eliminated from the European competition this week. While German clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen have qualified for the next stage. There are no clubs from the Italian league for the UEFA Champions League semi-final round.
Earlier this week in UEFA Champions League both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund booked their spot in the semifinal. Borussia Dortmund defeated Atletico Madrid in the second leg after coming behind the lead on aggerate. While Bayern Munich defeated Arsenal on their home ground by 3-2 on aggregate. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta bemoaned a "painful" night after the Gunners fell 1-0 to Bayern. Whereas in UEFA Europa League new Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen overcame West Ham United.
German league dominates the English league
Atalanta defeated Liverpool on 3-1 aggregate and in the UEFA Europa Conference League Aston Villa defeated Lille on penalties as they remain the only English club in European competition. Borussia Dortmund player Mats Hummels took on social media and made he cheeky post to show the quality of the German league. He wrote a post on X, "Good harvesting this week my fellow farmers."

Hummels' post came immediately after Dortmund defeated Atletico Madrid to advance to the Champions League's next round. The Premier League clubs have not participated in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2017.
In the UEFA Champions League semi-final Borussia Dortmund will face Paris Saint-Germain and on the other hand, Bayern Munich will take on Real Madrid. If both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich make it into the final of the UEFA Champions League the final match will be a repeat of the UCL 2023 final between the two clubs at the same Wembley Stadium in England where Bayern Munich lifted their fifth UEFA Champions League title. Meanwhile in UEFA Europa League Bayer Leverkusen will take on Roma in the semi-final. They will also aim to win their first title in the club's history and they are on the verge of winning the treble.
