Bruno Fernandes set to stay at Old Trafford

The news of Bruno Fernandes staying at Manchester United will fill a lot of fans with happiness. The 29-year-old had stated that he wanted to stay at Old Trafford and help the club get back to its previous glory.

During an interview with a local Portugal news outlet, the mid-field star said, “A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time, you have to want him to stay. At the moment, I feel there’s that on both sides. So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League."

Erik Ten Hag has time and again stated that Bruno Fernandes is a huge part of the club's future. It also indicates that INEOS values Bruno as one of their top players and has rewarded him handsomely for the same.

Manchester United lost the FA Community Shield to Manchester City on Saturday via penalties. Erik Ten Hag while speaking to ITV spoke about the loss, particularly about the penalty missed by Jadon Sancho.

The Manchester United manager said, “He's a very good penalty-taker. Today he missed and that is part of the game. We managed to be on an equal level with City. Rashford was high up the pitch and defending, we got pressure on the ball. Also in possession, we were overloading situations in midfield. We had some very good spells and created chances from this. So yeah, many positives we can take."
