There have been reports that Manchester United suffered from a significant security breach due to a prankster bugging their changing room. A practical joker has purportedly stated that they placed a bug in the Villa Park locker room two days before Man United's match against Aston Villa on October 6.

According to The Sun, the equipment was used to record manager Erik Ten Hag's team conversations with his squad while he was under fire. According to the investigation, Ten Hag's instructions to the players and team chat could be heard on the tape. With a goalless draw against Aston Villa, Manchester United's Premier League season got off to the worst start ever for the Red Devils.

The prankster allegedly used sticky tape to covertly place a device in the dressing room and called it from there to turn on the microphone. The next day, the prankster allegedly showed up to pick up the gadget. According to reports, Aston Villa has opened an investigation into what happened. Ten Hag is still under pressure at Man United since the Premier League's biggest clubs have just eight points from their first seven games after the draw at Villa Park.

Prior to the game at Villa Park, the Red Devils had suffered a 3-0 home loss to Tottenham and a wild 3-3 Europa League midweek tie against Porto. The Man United hierarchy was present for the game, which preceded this week's scheduled board meetings at the club, including minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Among the subjects covered at Tuesday's six-hour executive committee meeting in Knightsbridge was Ten Hag's future. After United's dismal start to the season, Ten Hag has been under fire. When his team hosts Brentford next weekend, he will be looking for some comfort. Erik Ten Hag needs to find a way out and will aim for the win if he wants to stay.
