Manchester United agree their first deal of the season with massive name set to join

English Premier League giants Manchester United have completed their first deal of the Summer Transfer Window. Noted journalist David Ornstein confirmed that Dan Ashworth is set to join Manchester United. The move came about after Manchester United agreed a deal with Newcastle United. 

Dan Ashworth comes into the club as the new sporting director of the club. The two clubs were embroiled in a stand-off as far as the pay to acquire the services of Dan Ashworth is concerned.

Noted British outlet The Athletic had confirmed the deal was agreed and later tweeted by David Ornstein. Even the noted Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano had put out a tweet which read “Manchester United are set to sign all the documents for Dan Ashworth to be announced as new sporting director”

New era set to begin at Manchester United 

Ever since Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS have picked up the 27.7& stake, they have taken over the footballing side of Manchester United. Their first huge move was to retain manager Erik Ten Hag and offer him a new three-year deal. 

Fabrizio Romano also noted on his X account “Compensation package already agreed with Newcastle as @davidornstein reports, it’s all done. Ashworth will start immediately, working closely with Omar Berrarda and Jason Wilcox”

There are a lot of names who are being linked with a move to Manchester United. The Red Devils finished 8th in the table and salvaged their season with an FA Cup win over rivals Manchester City in the final. 

The likes of Matthijs De Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee are heavily being linked with a move to Old Trafford. The Dutch duo are currently away playing in EURO 2024. Meanwhile, there are also reports that Manuel Ugarte could move to Manchester United. 

Paris Saint Germain as per reports is ready to let the Uruguayan leave after he has fallen down the pecking order. With Casemiro likely to leave United this year, Erik Ten Hag is looking to mould his mid-field. 

Raphael Varane who left Manchester United is set to join a new club. According to reports, the French star could join Como FC who have been promoted to Serie A under Cesc Fabregas.
