Manchester City star and former Chelsea striker in fresh trouble

Two Spanish football stars are in trouble over their chants during a victory parade after winning the EURO 2024 title. UEFA is set to probe the situation and take action.

Massive controversy has erupted over chants made by Rodri and Alvaro Morata over a few controversial chants. The two players were seen chanting for the sovereign rights of Gibraltar. UEFA is now set to open investigations regarding the two players and their chants during the victory parade. 

UEFA released a short statement which read, “Disciplinary inspector is being appointed to evaluate a potential violation”. One of the chants that was raised by the two players was “Gibraltar is Spanish”. This has caused a huge controversy on social media with many fans angry with the duo. 

If the charges against the duo come to fruition the two players could miss a few games in the UEFA Nations League tournament in two months. During the EURO 2024 tournament, Mirland Daku was banned for a few games on the same charges while leading chants for two different nations. 

Alvaro Morata seals move to AC Milan 

Former Chelsea star Alvaro Morata is now an AC Milan player after completing the move from Atletico Madrid. The star striker has signed on the dotted lines with his deal set to run till 2028. The exact amount paid hasn’t been revealed yet with Morata still having two years left on his current contract with Atletico Madrid. 

On completing the move, Alvaro Morata took to social media and wrote "I can't imagine what it must be like to win with this shirt and I'm not going to stop until I get it @atleticodemadrid."

The 31-year-old had earlier said, “When you are in a place that for different reasons you can't give your 100%, it is best for everyone is the option to leave”. Morata played a total of 117 matches for Atletico Madrid and scored 46 goals. 

Speaking about what convinced him to join AC Milan, the Spanish star said, "A simple thing. The trust is shown to me by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the squad and the coach. I know I still have the best years of my career ahead of me and I want to go to this big club that is Milan”

Morata also added “The truth is that Italians have treated me with incredible respect. I can't wait to go and play there again in Serie A. They have transmitted me all positive things."
