Julian Alvarez’s transfer decision shocked everyone when the reports came out. Now some sources have reported that the forward has taken this call as the family wishes to reside in a warmer country other than the UK. Paris seems to be a likely destination for the forward and can enjoy his time in a country like France.

The striker who played for Argentina in the Copa America 2024, is currently preparing for the Summer Olympics with his country's team before going back to play for Manchester City. Respected journalist Henry Winter pointed out on X (previously Twitter) that Alvarez's season had already lasted an absurd 344 days prior to his arrival at the Olympics.

Given the ridiculous demands that players are under these days, it is not surprising that so many well-known celebrities are suffering from injuries. Alvarez, who is 24 years old, is physically capable of handling things just fine. However, his infrequent 90-minute stints for City this year have provided him with some relief.

But assuming Atletico Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain decide to pursue their initial interest in him, Alvarez will eventually establish himself as the team's main striker and probably start most of the team's games. The giants of France and Spain appear to be interested, but any thoughts of moving abroad may have been dashed by City's decision of asking for €70 million plus an additional €20 million in variables (Fichajes).

What lies ahead for Julian Alvarez?

Even though Erling Haaland will always be City's first choice at center forward, the fact that the team is willing to pay such a high price for Alvarez indicates how valuable they think he is to the team.

With Atletico Madrid having already moved on from Memphis Depay as well as Alvaro Morata, PSG will probably have a better chance of acquiring the forward should a transfer war break out during the last few days of the window. However, Atletico may have enough money in their financial reserves to make a serious bid for Alvarez's services.
