Chelsea FC already sacked Mauricio Pochettino despite picking up the pace towards the end of the season. The management felt that the Argentine manager who helped them qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage was not enough for the job. The manager in 11 months with a maximum of youngsters has done a decent job as they were 10th in the league at one stage pulling the team up to 6th in the table, but failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League after Manchester United won the FA Cup.

The club after having big names on the list have decided finally to make Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca their new head coach in the upcoming season. The Italian manager recently helped the Foxes to qualify for the English Premier League once again after they topped the EFL Championship group stage, earning a direct qualification. They are closing in with the 44-year-old coach, unless something unusual happens he will be taking charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have wasted no time in finding their man after likes of Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna and former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi were also under the management. The 44-year-old will have a heavy task ahead in the EPL as there will be a lot of outgoings from the league.

Marsca have a huge future lying ahead

Maresca is generally recognised as a promising young manager, but it is surprising to see him get such a high-profile position so early in his managerial career. Following a short time at Parma in 2021, the 44-year-old worked as Pep Guardiola's assistant for a year before taking over at Leicester last summer.

As per Fabrizio Romano's latest column, "Enzo Maresca will be the new Chelsea manager – unless something crazy happens in the next 48 hours. It will be a ‘here we go’ soon because the latest contacts between Maresca and Chelsea were super positive. Maresca wants to go to Chelsea and never has any doubts despite some reports suggesting that is what he wants to stay at Leicester. Although he loves and respects Leicester, it’s been very clear ever since Chelsea entered this story that Maresca wants to be the next Chelsea manager."
