Serie A football club giants Juventus's manager Thiago Motta is under the radar for the club's repeated below-par performances this season. While the former Italy international is under contract until June 2027, Tuttosport has suggested there may be discussions regarding his future if the team comes up short in their next fixture against Fiorentina. It remains to be seen whether Mota can save his position in the club come next week.

The report emerged from a trusted source, Tuttosport based in Turin, who conversed about the coach's possible future at the club with former players.

Thiago Motta's position in danger

The three former stars included Dino Zoff, Alessandro Birindelli and Nicola Legrottaglie. The trio believed that the Bianconeri side should bid farewell to Thiago Motta as soon as possible if they are not on the same page.

Birindelli noted that the current team has utilised players who have yet to prove their effectiveness on the pitch. The team appears to lack clear reference points, and there is an absence of a solid core.

“The team has relied on players who so far haven’t proven their worth, lowering the overall quality of the squad. The team lacks clear reference points; there is no solid core, which was represented by Chiellini and Buffon in the past." Birindelli said.

“The decision to let Danilo go was a mistake. Motta has made some errors, but the club also bears responsibility. We have to see what happens from now until the end and what was agreed upon at the beginning of this journey." he added.

Former defender Legrottaglie feels that the decision lies at the helm of the club management. He feels that Mota's future depends on how much the club directors believe in his work. He asserted that the club should sack him lest they believe in him.

“In my opinion, the question should be directed to Juventus’ management because Motta’s future depends on how much the directors still believe in him. If they trust the coach they chose, then they should continue with him." Legrottaglie said.

“However, if the same management no longer believes in Motta, then there’s no point in keeping him in limbo. It would be better to replace him immediately.” he added.

The Serie A giants are not having a memorable season as they sit fourth in the league standings with 52 points. They will hope to cling on to the last of the UEFA Champions League spot heading towards the tail-end of the season.
