He emphasized that the team performed strongly in the first half but needed to capitalize on the clear chances. The team entered the match with that mindset, and it paid off effectively.

“It was a very important victory after the two defeats in LaLiga. It was very important to win with a result like that, and we are very happy,” he told. “We had been better in the first half, but we had to finish off the clear chances we had. We went out with that idea and it worked out pretty well for us.” he added.

Yamal's humourous reply on his Trivela assist

When asked about his brilliant assist using his outside foot, he confidently stated that it’s as simple as pressing the L2 button while playing FC24 on the console. This remark demonstrates that the young prodigy is a dedicated fan of the online game FC24.

Lamine Yamal: “The pass with the outside of my foot? Just press L2, I guess!” Yamal expressed pride in his assist to Raphinha, highlighting their strong teamwork and understanding on the field. He mentioned that setting up his teammate is something he feels confident doing and often wants to do more. Yamal was delighted with Raphinha's success and emphasized their mutual awareness during plays, knowing that he would make that effort whenever he found himself in that area of the pitch.

“It’s something I do quite well, I usually do it, I’m very happy for Raphinha we understand each other very well, and he knows that when I’m in that area of the field I will always try to do it." he said.

“It is a very important victory for the team, we needed to win again. In the Champions League we were doing very well, but in the League we were losing very silly points. The victory is very important for everyone and the goals for those who play less also give them a lot of confidence. The ankle is fine and I am ready to play as many games as necessary.” he concluded.

The teenager is now becoming one of the leading playmakers in the league, bringing his total assists to eight in just 14 La Liga matches for Hansi Flick's team. This victory allows Barcelona to solidify their position at the top of the La Liga standings, keeping them ahead of their arch-rivals Real Madrid. Currently, the Catalan club holds 37 points after 16 matches and looks forward to their upcoming challenge against Real Betis on December 7th.
