PSG is apparently eager to bolster its midfield and already has a deal in place with Joao Neves. But a deal involving SL Benfica is nevertheless required. Joao Neves has been a goal for PSG to strengthen their midfield for a number of weeks. The Paris club has avoided competitors for the 19-year-old talent, but they still need to agree on a deal with SL Benfica, where Neves has a 2028 contract.

The Portuguese international recently said that he would rather play for the current French champions. The French champions have advanced significantly over the past few days.

Reports claim that PSG and Joao Neves agreed to a contract. The agreement would run for five years, concluding in June 2029, and it would receive €5 million pay each year. With SL Benfica this past season, the 1.74-meter midfield player made €500,000; this would be a significant pay raise.

The 19-year-old is still awaiting a decision from the two teams to complete the move. Given that the player is expected to resume training on Friday, numerous media outlets anticipate a favorable outcome shortly. The trade, which might cost €70 million with bonuses (€60 million in addition to €10 million in bonuses), is still being negotiated by PSG and SL Benfica. However, there are still a few elements that need to be worked out.

Joao Neves purchase signals departure of Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United is prioritizing midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain, although they have not yet come to a deal with the Ligue 1 winners. The Uruguayan has reportedly given his verbal consent to sign with United this summer.

But it appears Neves is in deep discussions with PSG, who are expected to make a big investment for the Benfica sensation. The 19-year-old, who competed for Portugal during the European Championship this past summer, is reportedly to be acquired for a cost of approximately €70 million plus a player, according to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.
