Veteran Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is making the best of the international break during the football season. The 37-year-old took off to Bahrain along with his wife Becky since he isn’t involved with international football. This move has set tongues wagging as there was speculation that the veteran striker could move to the Middle East soon.

One unnamed source in the know was quoted by The Sun as saying, “Jamie and Becky went to Bahrain to check it out. He is in demand from Saudi clubs and while he’s still playing the field he could see what it would be like to possibly live out there.”

The source also added, “Bahrain is an hour or so drive from some of Saudi’s big clubs and it’s an amazing country, with a culture very similar to that in Dubai. It’s super relaxed and very glamorous.”

Will Jamie Vardy move to the Middle East?

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy turns 38 on 11th January next year. The move to the Middle East could be a huge deal for the former EPL title winner. With his career winding down, Vardy will view this as a huge chance for one final big payday. In January, Vardy will also be able to speak to other clubs since his deal expires in June.

The Sun quoted an unnamed source as saying, “While it was a holiday for them both, and involved a trip to Dubai too, it gave Jamie time to think about what he could do next after he leaves Leicester next summer. People who know them have joked about a deal in Saudi that could easily pay off Becky’s Wagatha Christie bill.”

Jamie Vardy joined Leicester City in 2012 from Fleetwood Town for 1 million pounds. His goals and presence in the team soon got the Foxes promoted back to the English Premier League. During the 2015/16 season, Vardy scored in 12 successive matchdays to set a new record. The previous record was held by former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy who had scored in 12 successive games. In the same season, Leicester shocked the world and went on to win the Premier League.

After a few seasons, the Midlands club was relegated but Jamie Vardy stayed on. The former England striker had in fact declined a move to Arsenal at the last moment. Vardy declined the move because then-manager Arsene Wenger had wanted him to play out of position. In the championship, Vardy scored 18 goals from 35 matches to help Leicester get promoted. So far, in 7 games, the veteran striker has scored 2 goals and is still one of the top strikers in England.
