Spain and England will clash in the massive finals for the European dominance on Sunday. The two teams have played good football in the lead-up to the final of the tournament. Spanish defender Marc Cucurella while speaking ahead of the game wanted to see one England player start on the bench.

The star in question is none other than Chelsea teammate Cody Palmer. The youngster is known to be one of the most promising talents in the country. Marc Cucurella knows from beforehand the quality Cody Palmer brings to the table after his impressive showing during the English Premier League last year.

Speaking to the media ahead of the massive game on Sunday, Cucurella said, “I spoke with him, but it was over a week ago. We spoke for a while in the previous rounds. For me, it’s much better if he doesn’t play and stays on the bench."

Marc Cucurella speaks about struggles at Chelsea

Ever since his move from Brighton to Chelsea, young Marc Cucurella hasn’t had a great time. The left-back stayed back at the Stamford Bridge after being linked with a loan move to Manchester United.

During a chat with the media which was carried by the Athletic newspaper, Cucurella said, “Fans judged me and some other teammates by the price Chelsea paid for us. Which had nothing to do with me. If that money had gone straight into my pockets it would have been fair. People expect that with certain price tags, you need to be a machine.”

Former England and Manchester City defender Micah Richards also came out and slammed Chelsea for their treatment of Marc Cucurella. The former defender said “Marc Cucurella is a massive talking point. At Brighton, he was in a system. He could play as one of three centre-backs or at full-back and would always go forward and join in attacks.”

Micah Richards also said “He looked like a really good player. He went to Chelsea, and because it was so disorganised, he became a bit of a laughingstock. But, in this tournament, he’s been one of the best full-backs.”
