"It's an extremely sad sight that such a beautiful club like Barcelona keeps being allowed to play tricks. Coming from what they once were—playing with UNICEF on their shirt. Other clubs are playing by the rules, trying to survive, but Barcelona is allowed to get away with everything, which is pretty crazy. If they were a company, they would have been declared bankrupt."

Furthermore, De Boer was critical of Barcelona in his comparison. "It's ridiculous; they have become a soap story. They just want to keep competing with Real Madrid and hate the fact that Real Madrid keeps reaching success."

After months of talks, Ronald and his brother Frank finally arrived. Although Van Gaal worked hard to get them signed, they didn't always contribute after they joined the team. Ronald hardly affected the squad, but the centre defender soon earned a place in the starting eleven. His tenure at the club was made much more difficult by the presence of players like Luis Enrique, who filled his role. Van Gaal even deployed him as a right-back because of this.

Hansi Flick emphasized the significance of the match

He played in 55 games and scored three goals in his three seasons with the Catalan team. He joined Rangers in 2000–04 after failing to make an impression at Barcelona. Sunday's Spanish Super Cup final, which will be hosted at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, will pit La Liga powerhouse Barcelona against bitter rival Real Madrid. To defeat Real Madrid, Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick emphasised the significance of the match and stated that his team would need to minimise errors.
