Kaka, the former Brazillian maestro, made a bold statement about the treatment of Ronaldo Nazario in Brazil. Known as "The Phenomenon," Ronaldo has an impressive legacy, having won the Ballon d'Or twice and clinched the FIFA World Cup in 2002. He is undeniably a legend at Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo made his mark at Real Madrid after joining the club in 2002 from Inter Milan, where he spent four and a half impactful seasons. During his time with Los Blancos, he secured significant trophies including the league title, the Supercopa de España, and the Intercontinental Cup.

During his time at San Siro, he had the opportunity to play alongside Kaka for two seasons. However, Kaka has expressed that his fellow countrymen may not receive the recognition he deserves in Brazil.

Kaka's remarks on Ronaldo Nazario

In a discussion on beIN Sports during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Kaka remarked that Ronaldo is often viewed in a less flattering light, even referring to him as an ordinary man treading the streets in Brazil. "It’s strange to say this, but many Brazilians don’t support Brazil. It happens sometimes. If you see Ronaldo walking around here, you’ll be like: ‘Wow’, he has something different here.' In Brazil, he’s just a fat man walking down the street,” Kaka said.

Kaka's comments garnered controversy, prompting intervention from his countryman just a couple of days later. As reported by The Indian Express, O Fenomeno stated that the issue arose due to a misunderstanding in translation.

“His English is not great. Perhaps he wanted to refer to a treatment that we all receive as successful Brazilians abroad. Perhaps culturally we receive a more special treatment outside Brazil than in Brazil itself,” Ronaldo said. Kaka made the bold move to join Real Madrid in 2009, where he proudly spent four seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Nazario achieved remarkable success with Inter-Milan, which led to Real Madrid investing in him in 2002, paying €46 million for the Brazilian superstar. His signing marked the beginning of the iconic 'Galacticos' era for the club. During his time at Real Madrid, the two-time Ballon d'Or winner delivered an impressive performance, scoring 103 goals and providing 34 assists in 177 appearances.
