Inter Milan has already become the champions of Serie A for the 20th time. The Nerazzurri have performed exceptionally well and after the match against AC Milan as they defeated their city rivals 2-1 on matchday 33. The Blue and Black side has been one of the finest teams in Europe, as well as Italy, in the last decade. They were absolutely outstanding on the home circuit, winning the titles. They qualified for the UEFA Champions League final against all the odds last season, losing to Manchester City 1-0.
Under present coach Simone Inzaghi, they finished second in his debut season with the club, two points behind AC Milan. Despite the loss last season, they have performed wonderfully this season and appear to be a very difficult team to beat in Serie A losing just two of their matches in the season so far with one game in hand.
But ahead of the next season, there has been tension for the club, as the giants find themselves in a difficult situation ownership-wise after their Pimco loan is yet to be confirmed by the club. There is uncertainty about what will happen to Suning at the club. However, it becomes more unlikely that the current Nerazzurri owners will continue in charge.
Is Inter Milan's future in trouble?
As per the report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saturday was a tensed day at the club's office as they reviewed the terms of the loan agreement with Pimco that may help them pay off Oaktree's loan while also ensure Suning's control over the club. The club has to pay off Oaktree’s loan by the 20th of May or the club’s ownership would be handed to the American fund. The future of the club is looking very uncertain.
Currently, there are three possible outcomes. 'The first is that Oaktree proposes a loan payment postponement, and the deadline is extended to Tuesday, giving Inter's owners time to reach a deal with Pimco until then. The second option is that Oaktree and Inter agree on a very short refinancing that will give Inter roughly six months to repay the cash with interest. The third option is the most obvious: Oaktree will take control of Inter if they fail to repay the cash by Monday and a deal with Pimco is not reached.'
