Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, has stated that he intends to stick with his high-risk approach when the latest season begins. The Cameroonian player, however, declared he would stick with his carefree strategy, defending it with the argument that the most daring teams, those that play out of the back under duress, are the ones who win.

Talking in an interview about his approach to playing this season, Andre Onana said, “Yes, that’s me, and I think it’s what you’re going to see this season, because I will take a lot of risks. I can tell you in advance already - be prepared, because it’s going be that way this season, trust me! I will enjoy it even more when this season starts.”

The Premier League goalkeeper added that, “That is because the best team in the world takes risks. Building from the back, recognise things, situations, when the opponent jumps one against one, or when they press with three or with four. Recognise we dominate the pressing if it’s a No.9 or the No.11. So, for me, it’s important to recognise those kinds of things and make the best decision for the team.

“It’s not always easy to settle in a new country” : Andre Onana

Andre Onana had a rough beginning to his first season at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, making a number of well-publicized mistakes that caused him to give up goals that were unnecessary.

The former Inter Milan superstar concluded by saying that, “I will take a lot of responsibility and I think my back is huge to carry it all, no? I think it’s going to be nice this season. Maybe in the beginning it was a bit strange for me, because I wasn’t used to the country and the set-up, but I feel good. It’s a nice place to be and my team-mates, the staff and the fans make it really easy for me, so I’m happy to be here. I think six months ago, I finally felt at home. It’s not always easy to settle in a new country, a new league and new people around but my teammates helped me a lot, so I’m happy.”
