'I was hired because of my idea' - Head Coach Ruben Amorim's blunt remarks amidst a dismal run of Man United in Premier League 2024-25

Manchester United are currently enduring a dismal run of form in the ongoing Premier League 2024-25. They are currently struggling in the 14th spot on the tournament’s points table, with six wins and nine defeats, alongside four drawn games. Now, the United are on the brink of ‘relegation’ owing to their poor performances in the tournament. 

Meanwhile, the head coach Ruben Amorim has broken his silence on the team’s consistent miseries in the Premier League 2024-25 as they recently lost a home game against New Castle by 0-2. Amorim came up with some blunt and bold remarks while admitting his team’s dismal performances.

Amorim also felt that are in a fight to avoid relegation as it is also a possibility considering their back-to-back debacles in the tournament.

“That is clear. It's one of the most difficult moments in the history of Man Utd and we have to address it with honesty. When you have these kinds of moments, especially in the big clubs, it's hard to turn things around, especially when you don't have a lot of time to train the basics, to cope with the difficult moments,” said Amorim to Sky Sports. 

“So, we have to acknowledge our position, the way you see the league, everybody can beat everybody. So, we have to engage and focus on surviving,” he added later.

Besides that, the 39-year-old was also asked before the match against Newcastle if would look ahead to make some changes in his coaching approach.

“I was hired because of that idea, and in these difficult moments if you change your mind, it is the end for any coach,” former Portugal international said.

“It is a choice that everyone has to make in football. If I think this is the best thing for the team, I will continue to pass my message,” he concluded.
