Manuel Akanji revealed in a recent media interview that he found it hard to spot his teammates while wearing Manchester City's new 'Oasis' kit. The team unveiled the new fourth strip during their recent Champions League match against Inter Milan, resulting in a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium.

The kits, designed by Noel Gallagher to mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis' debut album 'Definitely Maybe', feature a predominantly yellow colour with light blue detailing on the sleeves, adding an element of excitement to the game.

Akanji's take on the Kit

Talking about the brand-new kit, Akanji revealed that he liked it a lot. He disclosed that he had previously seen the kit while promoting Puma. He mentioned how he got confused courtesy to the new kit and hence passed the ball to the referee at the sideline, thinking him to be his teammate Bernardo Silva.

He mentioned he loved the new kit and is looking forward to playing in it more often. Then Akanji praised Inter-Milan for being a very good team.

"I like it a lot. I'd seen it already before I was at the shoot when we did it for Puma. One action I got confused with the referee on the sideline, I thought it was Bernardo (Silva) so I passed the ball to him," he said.

"But otherwise, I like the kit a lot and I'm looking forward to playing more in it. It’s difficult to play against Inter. They are a very good team, they defend well and leave very little space. It’s not coincidence we faced them in the final."- Akanji added.
