Memphis Depay remorseful for his activities

Dutch international Memphis Depay was not present in court to hear the ruling. Following his arrest, Depay expressed remorse and now has a two-week window to appeal the decision.

"Last summer during my holidays in Monaco I made a mistake, and decided to drive home after having some drinks in a restaurant. I should've got into a taxi instead, but I didn't. So I would like to apologise, and wanna take full responsibility for my action," Memphis said.

"2024 was a year of lessons, and I will definitely learn from this one. The 2025 we will do better," he added.

During his time at Manchester United, under the management of Louis van Gaal, the club invested £25 million to bring Depay in from PSV Eindhoven in 2015. Although he faced challenges, managing to score seven goals in 53 appearances, his journey continues as he seeks to make the most of his current endeavours.

The striker revitalized his career at Lyon, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid before making a decisive move to Corinthians last year. Depay has proven to be a dependable force for the Netherlands national team, netting an impressive 46 goals in 98 appearances.
