'I don't want to..' Vinicius Junior calls for introspection following Brazil's humiliating loss

Vinicius Junior has urged Brazil to reevaluate their approach in light of their humiliating defeat to Argentina ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Galacticos star emphasised the need for a new strategy after the Selecao faced a staggering 4-1 loss to their arch-rivals Argentina during CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday at Estadio Mas Monumental. Throughout the 90 minutes, Vinicius was largely ineffective as the world champions controlled the game to perfection.

Vinicius Junior's message for the team

Following the conclusion of the fixture, Vinicius Junior urged his national side to examine their performances. He revealed the pain of losing a World Cup and asserted not to feel that again.

"Today we arrive at the locker room and there is not much to say. We played very poorly and Argentina played a great match in front of their fans. We have to rethink everything we do. There is only a year left until the World Cup. I have already played in one World Cup, and I do not want to lose again." Vinicius said.

He explained the responsibility a player carries while wearing the national team jersey and called for improvements in the squad. He also rallied his teammates to give their best in the upcoming matches.

"We have to do a lot of different things to create a great team. Everyone knows the weight of this jersey and how difficult everything is. We have to improve, keep our heads up, and never give up. Let's qualify for the World Cup." Vinicius added.

With the end of the March FIFA window, Vinicius Junior will now set sights on helping his club, Real Madrid, win silverware this season. Brazil will play their next CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier on June 4th against Bolivia.
