It's been reported that Cristiano Ronaldo might be under the guidance of Stefano Pioli at Al-Nassr following the breakdown of the former AC Milan manager's potential move to Al-Ittihad.
At the beginning of the summer transfer window, Pioli seemed destined to take the reins at Al-Ittihad after parting ways with AC Milan. The deal, which was nearly finalized, entailed a lucrative contract said to be valued at €10 million (£8.43m/$11m) per year, in addition to performance-based incentives. However, as discussions progressed, the move unexpectedly fell through, thereby allowing Al-Nassr to step in, as per reports from Gazzetta.

Pioli's chances to coach Al-Nassr
Stefano Pioli is the top candidate to replace Luis Castro at Al-Nassr with his potential move having significant financial implications for AC Milan. If Pioli takes up the managerial role at Al-Nassr, Milan would no longer have to bear his substantial annual salary, allowing the club to free up funds for reinvestment in other areas of the squad. The Italian gaffer is still contracted to Milan until June 2025. His annual salary stands at €4m. Rossoneri will have the obligation to bear his wages, should Pioli prefer to be a free agent.
Before his tenure at AC Milan from October 2019, Pioli led the club to a Serie A victory in the 2021/22 season and took them to the Champions League semifinals in the subsequent season.
Why Pioli is in the fray to be the Gaffer for Saudi Club Giants
According to media reports, the team's significant loss to Al Hilal played a crucial role in the club's choice to make a coaching change.
Al-Nassr will face Al-Ahli on Friday after the international break. This upcoming fixture will be a crucial test for Castro as the manager's position could be at risk if Ronaldo and the team fail to secure a victory.
