Nico Gonzalez commits to a multimillion-dollar deal with Manchester City through 2029. Nico Gonzalez, a 23-year-old Galician midfielder who trained at La Masía, was signed by Manchester City at the last minute of the winter transfer window. To bolster its midfield and lessen Rodri's absence, the English team has paid the player's 60 million euro release clause. The English team formally announced Nico Gonzalez's deal at midnight.
FC Barcelona, which kept 40% of a potential sale when it transferred Nico Gonzalez to Porto, is happy about the transfer. The Blaugrana club was supposed to get 20.64 million euros because of this condition, however, the transfer agreement had a clause that significantly changed the operation's financial outcome. Officially, Porto declared that it had used the provision that permitted it to buy back 20% of Barcelona's stake in the deal.
So, Nico's move to Manchester City will bring in a total of 13.32 million euros for Barcelona.
