During the pre-season tour Manchester United suffered some major injuries as they are set to face Liverpool in a club friendlies match at Williams-Brice Stadium. The match will take place on 5th August ahead of their Community Shield clash against their arch-rivals Manchester City.

During the clash against Real Betis Manchester United won the game by 3-2 but saw many key players getting injured which is bad news for manager Erik Ten Hag. Meanwhile, Leny Yoro who was signed a few days earlier for 52 million euros from Lille has broken his leg against the Arsenal game and will be out for three months.

While Rasmus Hojlund will be out of action for six weeks. Marcus Rashford and Anthony will take more to recover from their injury and won’t be able to play against Liverpool match which has forced Erik Ten Hag to make changes in the team line. Though he Erik Ten Hag has options like Hannibal Mejbri and Mason Mount which came as subs in the match against Real Betis.

Amad Diallo, meanwhile, is expected to retain his spot on the wing after a sensational performance, while Jadon Sancho, who returned to Old Trafford this summer after a successful season with Borussia Dortmund, might make way for Mejbri. Scott McTominay, who scored 10 goals from midfield last season, is expected to be moved farther up the pitch in a more advanced role. This would allow Casemiro and Christian Erikson to drop deeper, reestablishing their relationship in the heart of United's midfield.

Defence options are wide for Manchester United.

In Ten Hag's defence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Amass are expected to be kept out wide, while Jonny Evans might partner Victor Lindelof at centre-back to replace the injured Harry Maguire. Andre Onana might replace Tom Heaton in goal, after the 38-year-old's dismal performance against Betis. Furthermore, United will be missing captain Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, and recruit Joshua Zirkzee, who has yet to return from international tournament action this summer.
