Former Real Madrid player, Antonio Cassano reveals to have received texts from Cristiano Ronaldo

Antonio Cassano, the former Real Madrid player, recently shared an interesting story about Cristiano Ronaldo. According to Cassano, Ronaldo once sent him a list of all the trophies he had won throughout his career. This happened after Ronaldo felt 'disrespected' for not being included in Cassano's list of the top 10 footballers of all time. Cassano, who is now 42 years old, has been known for expressing critical opinions about Ronaldo and has sometimes downplayed the striker's numerous achievements.

Ronaldo is not on the list of Greats 

It has been suggested that the Al-Nassr centre forward is not on the same level as football legends such as Lionel Messi, Pele, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, and R9. Additionally, Cassano has criticized him as 'selfish' after Ronaldo's Juventus lost 2-1 to Porto in the 2021 Champions League.

Undoubtedly one of the finest footballers to have graced the game, Ronaldo rightfully holds himself in high esteem, as do we in the present day. This is a testament to his sheer brilliance. However, it doesn't render him immune to criticism, particularly from pundits and former professionals.

Ronaldo allegedly texted Cassano 

Recently on the BSMT podcast, Cassano mentioned that he received a text on his phone, allegedly from Ronaldo himself. The text contained a detailed list of Ronaldo's football achievements after Cassano excluded him from his top 10 list of strikers. 

"After I said Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't in my top 10, I received a text from a +34 number. It was him, listing all the trophies he'd won. He added a voice message saying I disrespected him."- he said.

This isn't the first instance of Cassano claiming that Ronaldo reached out to address his critical remarks. In 2021, Cassano made similar comments on Christian Vieri's Twitch channel.

"Ronaldo wrote me messages! Cristiano Ronaldo, telling me that I need to have respect for him because of the trophies he's won and the goals he's scored.” - he added.
