New Update
Erik ten Hag to AS Roma

According to Italian media, AS Roma is starting to show interest in Erik ten Hag. Now that he is unemployed, the Dutchman is spending time alongside his family. In recent days, Ten Hag could be seen at a number of football games in his home country of the Netherlands. It is clear that the former Manchester United manager can't avoid the action for very long.

After roughly two years in command at Old Trafford, the 54-year-old was fired on October 28. Successful at Ajax, Ten Hag had guided Manchester United to their worst-ever English Premier League position in 2023–2024 and their worst-ever season start in 2024–2025.

The Dutchman is still well-regarded in the business for his accomplishments in the Netherlands, so it is not surprising that major teams seeking a manager are interested in him despite his shortcomings at Manchester United following a strong debut campaign.

Roma has one of the largest managerial openings in the league at the moment. The Serie A powerhouses have already fired a second head coach after a turbulent start to the season. Roma is now in 12th place in Serie A and has only won three of their first 12 games, a dismal record that has lost Ivan Juric and club icon Daniele de Rossi their jobs.

Will Erik ten Hag be interested in joining AS Roma?

Erik ten Hag and former Chelsea manager Graham Potter are currently being considered by AS Roma as possible solutions, although the Italian city is not a place where they can find job stability.

Due to the past firings and turmoil at the club, the controversial directors, the Friedkins, have been the focus of fan protests and are losing support. The Roma leaders also fired Jose Mourinho earlier this year, and Lina Souloukou, the CEO, resigned in September.

It's unknown if Erik ten Hag is even interested in the position or if interest has progressed to the extent of an interview. Over the weekend, the Dutchman was seen in Enschede, where he watched his beloved Twente and his second love, Ajax, draw 2-2.
