On Tuesday, two of the four UEFA Champions League quarter-finals were held. On one side Real Madrid hosted Manchester City and on the other side of Europe Arsenal played against Bayern Munich. Both of the games started off with early goals in the first quarter of the match. Certainly both games will go down in one of the finest games of the UCL with goals in the early stages and the team coming back from behind.

Bernardo Silva silenced the Santiago Bernabeu in the second minute of the game when he scored directly from the free-kick catching Andriy Lunin off the goal line putting it past the wall. But Madrid pulled one back after Eduardo Camavinga’s long range shot got deflected from Ruben Dias’s body and ended in the net. The Los Blancos are known to be the one of the most dangerous sides in the UCL and they proved it again as they took the lead from the counterattack with Rodrygo dancing his way through Manuel Akanji making it 2-1 for the home side.

The Gunners took the lead in the 12th minute when Bukayo Saka made the cut inside and curled back the ball past Manuel Neuer. Munich started the game after conceding the first goal and pulled back from a mistake of Gabriel Magalhães who lost the ball while clearing it out and ended up to Leroy Sane who gave a beautiful through ball to Serge Gnabry as he did not failed to score against his former club at Emirates. The Bavarians took the lead after a foul by William Saliba on Sane inside the box leading to a penalty, as Harry Kane scored from the spot.

Goals galore in 1st leg of quarter-finals

Over in Madrid, Guardiola’s side started better despite the pressure from the home side. They were looking dangerous from the start of the second half and created some fantastic opportunities. English midfielder Phil Foden equalised with a belter of a goal from outside the box and then Joško Gvardiol scored another banger to make it 3-2. But Federico Valverde’s volley cancelled out the lead of the away side.

In North London, the home side gave all their efforts for finding an equaliser with Leandro Trossard providing them with the goal. They were the better side in the second half but failed to make some good openings during the clash as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
