Aston Villa had an amazing comeback against Liverpool on Monday at their home stadium after being 1-3 down till the 85th minute of the game. With John Duran came out as the super sub for the side after he came on for Nicolo Zaniolo who got injured after coming off the bench. The former scored two goals in quick succession to keep the UEFA Champions League hope alive for the club. The Lions now need two points from one game to qualify for the UCL. 

However, the game was end to end with both sides having their chances, with the home side having the better chances to score but they failed to capitalise on their chances and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. In the game, Emiliano Martinez made a horrible mistake during the first goal of the game as he slipped through one simple cross while grabbing in the second minute of the game. 

After he conceded the goal he made a unique unwanted record after scoring an own goal. The Argentine shot-stopper became the first goalkeeper to concede three own goals in the history of the English Premier League. However, the keeper made two big saves to keep the score to three goals. Previously  Mark Bunn, Petr Cech, Shay Given, Rob Green, Kasper Schmeichel, Russell Hoult, Tom Heaton, Tim Krul, Bernd Leno, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Richard Wright have scored two own goals, with 53 goalkeepers scoring just the one.

Martinez lists in the top 5 for most clean sheets

The World Cup winner conceded his first own goal when Villa lost 4-2 against Arsenal back in February 2023 after Jorginho's long-range shot struck the crossbar hitting his back and going inside the goal. His second was against Manchester United in 2022 when a free kick by Bruno Fernandes went inside after he failed to grab the ball properly. He is in the top 5 list of clean sheets this season with 8. 

The Lions will be up against Crystal Palace away from home on May 19th as their qualification is on the line the game is a must-win for Unai Emery's side. After the PL ends Martinez will be back to his national duty for Argentina for the upcoming Copa America 2024.
