According to Dani Carvajal, he is attempting to persuade Rodri to go from Manchester City to Real Madrid. Real Madrid is lacking a midfield player after Toni Kroos retired at the conclusion of the previous campaign, and they may be seeking to sign one. Now, Carvajal has disclosed that he has been unsuccessful in persuading Rodri, his Spain teammate, to quit City in order to play in the 15-time Champions League.

One of the favorites to take home the Ballon d'Or this year is Rodri, who has shown to be one of the most effective defensive midfielders in recent years. The Spaniard has four Premier League titles under his belt in addition to an FA Cup and one UEFA Champions League.

While speaking to El Partidazo de COPE, Dani Carvajal said, "Yes, without a doubt, I tell him every day: 'Leave Manchester, there is no sun, come to Madrid because we need you, and you are from here in Madrid'.

The Real Madrid defender added that, "He says: 'Yes, well, I have a contract, there are no clauses here.' It gives me pause, it gives me delay, but it would be the signing, without a doubt. Being Spanish, in Madrid... I think it would fit perfectly."

Rodri shows admiration for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola

Rodri spoke a while back about his admiration for Pep Guardiola. He said, "People like Pep are special because of their hunger. It's the way he wants to do it again, wants to win, wants to find a way and I think that's the key. Not only for Pep but for all the big names that have won for all the years.”

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder said, "Honestly, you don't know how it will be until you come here. But the Premier League, Manchester, I think it's something special. The way you guys understand football. Here in England it's so demanding. It's so competitive, they always demand the best of you, the crowds are always full, they love their teams, they want them to win and this is something special."
