Following an impressive run of winning six out of the last seven league titles, Guardiola's team now trails Liverpool by nine points at the top of the table, having played one game more, with only one victory in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

"You have to restart; you have to regain everything in our minds that everything is more difficult than ever. We can say how good we have been; that’s the truth, but that doesn’t help us to win games," Pep said.

"I won everything here; we won everything together. But the current situation remains a problem," Pep said.

"The history is there. But in terms of results, yeah, it’s the most difficult challenge of my career, obviously," he added.

Pep discusses about Halland

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola also addressed the recent discussions about the possibility of benching star striker Erling Haaland to help address the team's current struggles.

While some analysts have suggested returning to the successful false-nine strategy that Guardiola utilised before Haaland joined the squad, the esteemed coach has reaffirmed his commitment to keeping Haaland as the focal point of their attack. Guardiola believes in his key players and is focused on finding ways to support and enhance the team's performance together.

A great start to the season has positioned Haaland as the Premier League's joint-top scorer, tied with Mohamed Salah at 13 goals in 16 games.

“No, no, I didn’t think about that. Always I play false nines for the quality—specifically the players [we play against] in that moment. In some games, for example, playing against man-to-man, against teams man-to-man, I love to play a false 9. But to have an Erling, I have to adapt,” Pep said.
