La Repubblica reports that the initial hearing for Juventus’s appeal at the Work Tribunal will take place in March where a judge will determine the path forward.

In April 2024, the Collegio Arbitrale court ruled that Juventus must pay approximately €9.8 million to Ronaldo for unpaid wages incurred during his time at the club.

The Point of Conflict

This matter arose from the controversial Salary Maneuver implemented by the Bianconeri during the peak of the Covid pandemic in 2020.

The players had publicly committed to forgoing two months' wages to assist the club during the period without any football matches. However, an investigation in November 2022 challenged this account, revealing that many players were, in fact, still receiving their salaries through alternative means.

In August 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo made a significant move from Juventus to Manchester United, which was expedited on deadline day. This swift transfer sparked discussions regarding the implications of his contractual agreements related to financial compensation.

As part of a broader investigation into their financial practices, Juventus received a penalty of 15 Serie A points, which was later reduced to 10 following an appeal and a plea bargain. This situation highlights the complexity of football finances and the importance of transparency in player transfers.

Ronaldo's performance for Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo had a significant impact during his three years at Juventus, joining the club from Real Madrid in 2018. Throughout his time in Italy, he contributed to the team's success by helping secure several important titles.

In 134 appearances for Juventus, Ronaldo found the back of the net an impressive 101 times. His performance in Serie A was particularly noteworthy, with 81 goals in 98 matches across three seasons, where he consistently scored 21, 31, and 29 goals each year. Additionally, he netted 14 goals in the Champions League. During his tenure, Ronaldo played a crucial role in Juve’s achievements, winning five trophies, including two Serie A titles and one Coppa Italia.
