Cristiano Ronaldo motivates his club team with a heartfelt Instagram story

Cristiano Ronaldo conveyed a resilient message to his teammates, encouraging them to remain determined despite Al-Nassr’s struggles in the Saudi Pro League title race. 

In a recent match against Al-Shabab, Ronaldo found the back of the net, but Al-Nassr, playing with ten men, ultimately secured a 2-2 draw. Although the team missed an opportunity to narrow the gap at the top of the league, the 40-year-old remains committed to pushing forward and fighting for success.

In an Instagram story featuring his teammates in a huddle, the Portuguese star expressed, "We will keep fighting."

In an intense matchup against Al-Shabab, the game, Abderrazak Hamdallah set the tone by converting a penalty to give Al-Shabab an early lead. However, Ayman Yahya swiftly responded, levelling the score for Al-Nassr. Ronaldo then skillfully restored his team's advantage with a well-placed shot from a steep angle, following an accurate assist from Mane. The match took a turn in the 52nd minute when Al Nassr's Al-Fatti received a red card, forcing the team to navigate the remainder of the game with ten players.

Despite playing with a numerical disadvantage, Al Nassr managed to maintain its composure until Al-Shabab equalized in the 67th minute with a goal from Al Shwirekh. Hence both teams had to share the points with a dramatic draw.

Currently, Al-Nassr sits in fourth place in the league, trailing league leaders Al-Ittihad by 10 points. While the challenge ahead is difficult, there is still time for Ronaldo's team to stage a comeback. Their most promising opportunity for a trophy may lie in the upcoming AFC Champions League Elite tournament.

Al Nassr is set to face Esteghlal in the second leg of the round of 16 AFC Champions league clash at their home on Monday.
